Nightman

So imagine this: It's saturday afternoon, and you have just finished watching all of your cartoons before going out to play with friends. You start watching the intro to a show you've never seen before and its jazz of all genres. Now you see a Batman-esque figure using Karate techniques on some street thugs. What I have just described to you is Nightman. By night he is an absolutely jacked saxophone player and superhero. By day.... well he's usually asleep or running errands. Protagonist Johnny Domino gains super powers after getting electrocuted on a cable car in Bay City. He gains the power to, according to the Wikipedia: "telepathically recognize evil but robs him of the ability to sleep". Very soon after, he obtains a suit that allows him to fly, shoot a laser beam, see better at night, and grant him visibility. Teamed up with his sidekick Raleigh Jordan, Nightman spends his evenings going to war with the criminals of Bay City. Raleigh is an engineering genius and introduces Nightman to all of his equipment and how to use it. Additionally, Raleigh also serves as an extra set of eyes and ears that keeps Nightman from getting into too much danger. The series has so many exciting episodes. The special effects seem pretty cheesy at times, but remember: this was the 90's. Television shows were not known to have massive budgets. I don't wan't to give any much of the show away, but the continuity seemed consistent if we are strictly talking about the in-universe characters. Season 1 was a little less predictable than season 2. In addition, there were 2 actors that were changed from season 1 to 2. Overall, the story is pretty solid, but the vibe shifts significantly over the life of the series. The first season's episodes feel a little more grounded and the show gets progressively more science fiction.
